The Day After Thanksgiving

What did you do for Thanksgiving? We ripped our kitchen apart. This is what it looked like before we started.

See that upper cupboard over the peninsula? We decided that it makes the counter too hard to use and it makes the room seem small, so it had to go. The first step was removing all of the hardware

and trim

At that point, we had to stop for turkey sandwiches with stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Yum!

Next we removed the face frames.

and the end panel.

Tom really liked knocking pieces loose with the mallet.

Next we removed the frame which held it all to the ceiling.

When we were done, it looked like this.

Next we need to do some spackling and painting.
