Shaper Origin Demo
One of the most interesting tools I’ve seen recently is the Origin CNC router from Shaper. It’s a hand router that moves the head relative to the base to compensate for errors in how you move. The concept is pretty brilliant. It combines the flexibility of a handtool with the accuracy of a dedicated tool.
Recently Hackaday had a link to this video from Applied Science which shows just how powerful it is in practice as he uses it to fabricate some parts for his big CNC machine.
