John Donvan and Caren Zucker have a great article in this month’s Atlantic about Donald Triplett. He’s known in the medical literature as Donald T, case 1 of autism. It turns out that he’s still around and still living in Forest, Mississippi where he grew up. He apparently has led a relatively happy and independent life, surrounded by supportive people who accept him. I highly recommend this article, it’s well written, and it’s a great reminder of why NTs should treat others with respect and understanding.
