Google Music Beta
I’ve started messing around with the new beta of Google Music. So far, I’m fairly impressed.
The big problem with the Xoom is that it can’t hold much music until the get the SD card support fixed. That means that you need to stream your music from somewhere. I’ve been using the Amazon Cloud Player, but the user interface has been driving me nuts. I keep getting lost while trying to do simple things like clearing the Now Playing list. In addition, the free storage isn’t really large enough to hold much.
The Google one seems a lot easier to use, and it’s happily swallowing as much music as I can throw at it. The uploader seems pretty reliable and the web interface for editing your collection seems reasonable. The Android interface is really nice, of course. It’s nicely integrated with the existing music player. We’ll see if I still like it after a couple of weeks, but my first impressions have been pretty good.
