Lime Rock 2011
We just got back from the vintage car races at Lime Rock.
There were an amazing number of MGs there this year.
One of the nicest MG’s was this one from the Simeone collection. This is the K3 that placed fourth overall at Le Mans in 1934.
The Simeone collection also brought an Aston Martin DBR1, an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, and a D-type Jaguar. There were a lot of really nice Jaguars there this year, like this D type going through Big Bend.
In addition to the races, we also went to the concours on Sunday. They had quite the collection of cars there. The restorations ranged from this virtually untouched Austin 7 …
… to this perfectly immaculate TC, which won best in class.
The most outrageous car at the concours was this early Testa Rossa.
But the car that we loved the most was Chuck Gould’s Panhard. My father was driving a black one of these back when I was born. Here he is standing next to Chuck’s.
I’ll be uploading some more pictures here.
