Wilbraham Hill Climb
Today we went to a hill climb in Wilbraham. That’s a small town near Springfield MA.
In the early 20th century, that area was a hotbed of automobile manufacturers like the Duryea brothers. In 1908, the automobile club in Springfield organized an auto race up a steep hill in Wilbraham. 72 cars competed in that event.
In recent years, the event has returned. A bunch of fun old cars compete on that same hill.
The whole town turns into a big car show, with lots of interesting things going on.
A few modern cars do get to take their turn on the hill.
But the local constabulary is keeping an eye on things.
We had a lot of fun. You can find more pictures here.
