Yesterday marked the end of my first week of dayjams and the performance of the song my band worked on all week. 3 times. We were the last band on, and our lead guitarist had a solo near the end of the song, and we were on last, so we were the heroes of the performance done in front of the other campers. In the end we were not quite as good during our final performance, but we still were one of the best, if not the best performance.
Dayjams is a summer camp where campers are divided into bands and they make an original song, and perform it at the end of the week. My band’s name was “The Whom” and our song was “Please Alice”, with it’s creation based around the work “
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Caroll. We were lucky, in that we had only one drummer and 3 guitarists, while some last week had 4 guitarists or 2 drummers. I have even heard of a band that had 5 drummers and nobody else. Our drummer, vocalist, lead guitarist, and I are all coming back next week, and could quite possibly be in another band together.
