SynthCam
Marc Levoy’s group at Stanford has been doing lots of cool stuff for many years now. I first met him in the 80’s when I was doing volume rendering. But every time I go to one of his talks, he has some really cool new idea he’s been working on. Lately it’s been Computational Photography. There’s lots of amazing stuff coming down the pipeline in this area. A lot of it is going to require new hardware, but if you’d like to play with some of the techniques with today’s hardware, check out his iPhone app named SynthCam.
