Photogrammar
Yale recently launched this cool website named Photogrammar. It’s a giant collection of photographs taken for the FSA and the OWI. The interesting bit is that they’ve given you tools to slice the collection based on the metadata. So you can find all of the photos taken in a particular area, or follow a particular photographer around the country.
For example, we’ve become really fond of the work of Jack Delano.
You can go on Photogrammar and follow him on a big road trip across the country, including a bunch of pictures he took at the Champlain Valley fairgrounds just down the street from where I grew up. I swear that I remember seeing these folks on the midway when I was young.
It’s definitely a fun collection to explore.
