First Nectarine
For at least six years I’ve had a dwarf nectarine in the front garden. Every year it is covered in flowers that the bees love, like this.
And every year when the little green nectarines get to be the size of a walnut, the chipmunks and birds take every single one of them. I’ve tried nets and other things to discourage them, but with no success until…. This year I covered a few of the branches that had good looking nectarines with excess fabric from ikea curtains:
In the end I was left with a single nectarine. The only one in six years. I really hope it’s sweet.
