Crack
Yesterday Chris & I had a beautiful day at the beach. Walked along the sandbar, chased a bunch of crabs. Late in the afternoon, big black clouds started piling up to the north and west. We decided it was time to get out of there.
We got home without getting wet, but while we were making dinner the sky suddenly opened. Pouring rain, lightning flashes, and howling winds. The whole house was shaking. Then there was a loud cracking noise and our lovely elm tree split in half.
Luckily it missed all the cars (barely).
We spent today clearing up the remains. 95° F and more than 50% humidity isn’t really the weather I would have chosen for playing lumberjack.
