Last night we went to see Tommy Derrah’s new play about Buckminster Fuller. I would be pretty flummoxed by the thought of trying to capture an eclectic, wide-ranging personality like Fuller in a two hour script, but they did a great job, and Tommy was wonderful in it. He bounced from geometry, to politics, to family life with the sort of enthusiasm that Bucky always brought to his talks. He got everyone in the audience up and twisting around to feel the planet spinning, and contributing pieces of jewelry to his explanation of the history of money.
All in all a very enjoyable performance. Here’s a full review.
