FB vs. AFP
It’s been an interesting week in the VC market, hasn’t it? I think that it’s kind of interesting to contrast all of the chaos which ensued when a certain company tried the Wall Street insider approach to what’s been going on at Kickstarter recently. Did you see Amanda Palmer’s latest project? At the moment, she’s raised $831,658 with 8 days to go (and she explains where all the money’s going too!). And check out Jay Silver’s project. He’s already raised $208,139 with 19 days to go.
Meanwhile, back on Wall Street, the lawyers are lining up to try to nail FB for all of the insider trading shenanigans which went on during their IPO. Maybe the old way is starting to show its age?
And here’s AFP playing the MakeyMakey banana piano at the Media Lab this week: http://youtu.be/-3aSpDDOqmI introduced by Eric Rosenbaum, co-creator of MakeyMakey. Nice teamwork by a pair of LHS alums and super successful kickstarter project founders.
